This lovely gal is one of my co-workers/friend from my other career as a Family Therapist. Anna and I work with children and their families suffering from a wide variety of life's struggles. We hear about heartbreak and loss and tragedy on a regular basis. We hear about all the things that tear families apart. It can be a grueling and daunting job at times. But....we don't focus on those things. Because we would not last for a second in our line of work if we did. Instead, we focus on HOPE! And that is what I love so much about working with families! Because if you can take a dire situation and sprinkle just a little bit of HOPE, you can watch miracles happen. Small miracles. But they happen. And you begin to see triumph over tragedy. And with each little triumph the family gets stronger and stronger. And HOPE becomes bigger and bigger. It doesn't happen every day in our line of work. Not even close. But when it happens. It is amazing. And it keeps people like me and my dear friend Anna coming back for more.
For me, photography has become an natural extension of my passion for helping families. I absolutely enjoy capturing the pure, natural moments that exist between the members of a family, a couple, or a mom and her newborn. Of course it's nice to get the good ole' lookin at the camera cheese shot but those don't do it for me quite like the shot they didn't know you got.
Thanks for a great photoshoot Anna and Seth! And thanks for dancing in the rain!
